Saturday June 19th, 12-2pm: Watercolor Meditation
Join us for a workshop taught by textile artist, designer, and meditator Jess Beebe on the art and practice of painting watercolor with nature inks. Jess began a love of watercolor and color theory while studying in Florence, Italy, in 2000. Working as a designer and waking to the toxicity of our environment, she began to look for other ways to incorporate care of the natural world within her artistic practices. She became a student of natural dyes and ink making; honoring what nature has to offer while opening to a wide exploration of natural colors and chemistry. The practice of utilizing natural color anchors us in the vast array of color and complexity in our environment and our need to work responsibly with it.
This class will help you be more in touch with your own creative process and the elements around you. All supplies included.
(inks shown above: elderberry, plume poppy, blackberry, and verbena)
BIPOC Discount: 1/2 off with code BIPOC
*A note about our discount: BIPOC communities are the knowledge-holders of much of the earth-centered and wellness arts. These communities don’t often get credit for being the knowledge holders, and at the same time experience disadvantage in the form of racism, classism, prejudice and bigotry, which create health and economic impacts. This discount is an effort to address the increased barriers that exist for many BIPOC in accessing the types of classes that help with reconnection and healing, and are one way we are trying to share knowledge with an eye toward equity, diversity, and inclusion.
