Heidi founded Portland Pilates Collective + Wellness Center in 2006 with the vision of making Pilates accessible to all and welcoming to a wider demographic. She believes in the ability of Pilates to change lives, and her teaching emphasizes the wholistic and transformative benefits of Pilates, approaching the method as a healing modality.
Interest in the health field since an early age led Heidi to pursue Pilates and nutrition certifications, a Master’s in Public health, and study a wide range of healing modalities including Jin Shin Jyutsu, homeopathy, Reiki, Chinese food therapy, healing through ritual, flower and gem essences, and nutritional anthropology.. She now combines her love of movement and food with this broad knowledge base in integrative health education to help clients live and eat better. She has seen therapeutic movement and targeted, whole-food nutrition heal many ailments.
Since 2006, Heidi has held a comprehensive Pilates certification with Peak Pilates as well as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) certification. She graduated from Portland State University Master’s of Public Health Program in 2011 with an emphasis in Integrative Health Education, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese from Reed College.
