Heidi founded Portland Pilates Collective + Wellness Center in 2006 with the vision of making Pilates accessible to all and welcoming to a wider demographic. She believes in the ability of Pilates to change lives, and her teaching emphasizes the wholistic and transformative benefits of Pilates, approaching the method as a healing modality.
Since 2006, Heidi has held a comprehensive certification with Peak Pilates as well as a certification as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP). She graduated from Portland State University Master’s of Public Health Program in 2011 with an emphasis in Integrative Health, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Chinese from Reed College.
The pursuit of wholeness and healing for Heidi has meant studying a wide range of modalities, including but not limited to: Jin Shin Jyutsu, homeopathy, Reiki, Chinese food therapy, healing through ritual, evolutionary astrology, flower and gem essences, and nutritional anthropology (the use of food as medicine through many cultures of the world). This broad knowledge base in integrative health education allows her to approach clients’ needs from a truly holistic perspective. She believes that targeted, complete nutrition can heal many ailments.
